Loose wheel

I got new tires on my new "old" 85 m1008...and I noticed that the front left wheel has very slight (maybe 1/32 inch) of play or looseness....lugs nuts are tight, my thoughts are worn axle vs worn clutch pack in diff (which I assume there is one assuming that the Dana 60 is limited slip?) vs worn hub....does anyone have any experience with this?

Is the 1/32" measured near the top of the tire? I've watched that much variance at the top of the tread on tire's I've balanced back in the day while working at Sears Auto. Dana 60's on these trucks are normally open differentials. A quick way to look is see if you have a GD or an HD in the beginning of the VIN Plate HD being the one that normally would have come with the front locking diff.

Ok, so the 1/32 in is a rough guess, it is very slight but yet distinctly present...the movement is if you grab the tire with two hands and rock it, and it will rock no matter how you hold the tire( 9 and 3 or 12 and 6 o'clock positions) the wheel and the long/projecting out hub (with 4wheeel drive switch) move in unison

Check & repack wheel bearings.
These are tapered roller bearings that you have to set preload on.
Not the typical new sealed bearing assy crap.

Don't forget to pickup an axle nut socket for that before you start if you don't already have one. It sucks to get elbow deep in grease and need to get cleaned up to run out and get something.
