M-151 Tow Missile launcher painted desert tan

I am currently restoring a 151 tow missile jeep ,yes static display only,and would like to know if they were ever painted desert tan in U.S.service. I already have many jeeps in o.d. and was wondering if this is an accurate paint scheme.

I saw M151A2/TOWs in desert colors while at Ft. Campbell in 1986. 5thSFG had two parked in their compound along with several other desert painted vehicles.

Were they solid tan with black markings? All details appreciated, thanx

A stretcher carrier and a carrier for the missiles.

Most of the ones I saw in desert scheme were like the photos Will posted.

All the picts I've seen have the trucks painted the 4 color camo pattern in the desert terrain. I have seen some all sand color ie. Gulf War 1 with USMC markings so maybe they painted some of the vehicles all sand.

Yes, solid tan with black markings. 5SFG at the time was participating with the 101st on peacekeeping mission in the Sinai and training Egyptian Forces. They also had a detachment in Saudi. Both were in their AO.

The USMC took the M151A2 to Desert Storm and some were tow jeeps so Tan paint is right color
