M1008 Keys?

Hi, We're looking at buying a 1985 Military Chevy. The first problem is that there aren't any keys to be found. How hard is it to pull the column apart? Any tips on how to do it? Were they all keyed alike? With the vin and a title can someone make a set of keys for it. This is the first military vehicle we've had that actually had keys so it is a new problem for us.
