M1028 springs

Has anyone tried relocating the overload spring on a m1028 to the middle of the pack? Since it is bent a lot more than the others i would presume it might work as an ad a leaf.

It'd be a pretty stiff overload. You'd be in danger of breaking the upper leaves I'd think.

Be easier to just get a purpose made add a leaf set.

Part of the job of the helper spring is to stabilize load with a set of contact points higher up on the frame. so you should not mess with it.

This pic shows the springs in my current V30 civilian dually. They have been like this on all my duallies except my 77 K30 which had 1 more leaf in the auxillary helper pack.
