Isn't there supposed to be a filter in the hydraulic recirculation path,
or am I thinking too much. If there is, where is it supposed to be?
I looked in the manual, but I didn't see any mention of one other than the strainer
in the tank.

Thanks Ron,
I updated the poll. My truck is a hybrid and not a true M108.
It is an XM211 with an M108 AW crane on it. Actually I am
not positive that the AW crane came off of an M108, but I think so.
The crane itself was modified and has a 21 foot hook height.
I managed to bring the XM211 back to the land of the living
but I am now working on the AW.

Bruce,, I have seen this combo before, think the 211 series bomb handler before the series was droped, sorta like the cable hoe on a 211, in this case a hold over of a cckw idea

Hi Ron,
In this case, I am sure it wasn't a mod by the military.
This was done by a blind welder with DT's
One day I am going to take detailed fotos of some of this guys work.
The welds do hold, I can say that for him.
