Was backing our 1083 up very steep slope, it switched itself to N three times, when it switched there was an air release under passenger dash area. Could not get it to replicate it later. Fluids and air pressure are good. Any input appreciated.
Yep as @NDT said, pull the codes.

Also since you have a FMTV you may want to move your questions to the “FMTV” post location, you would probably get more responses.

Good luck.

Start adding new ground cables from dash to cab from cab to frame from batteries to frame from altenator to frame !
Check and clean all the post and cables on the reverse polarity box beside spare tire a lot of problems are traced back to that box !
Coroded post and if a post twist off its not the end of the world just meter all your 12v and bolt them together and put all the 24v together and spray battery post sealer on them real good and tie strap them down good ! If that happens you just have to be positive when you hook up battery cables that you have it rite !

So were you in mode? The air from the passenger side could have been the intermediate axle diff solenoid releasing which would happen with a shift either into or out of mode… as suggested check the codes(up and down arrows simultaneously to enter maint mode, then mode button to step thru the D1-D5 memory locations)…
