M1088A1 Blackhorse tractor

I just picked up a 2004 M1088A1 out of Yermo, CA with the Blackhorse insignia on the door and some Blackhorse Regiment paperwork in the cab. Since it is a tractor, I assume it was part of the Supply & Transportation troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment out of Ft. Irwin. What I can't find any documentation on is the red crossed Arabian sabres behind the Blackhorse insignia (attached picture). Does anyone have any information on this? It is just something they added for an OPFOR exercise?

I'm so far behind the times that I still think of the 11th ACR in terms of covering the Fulda Gap in Europe. It was news (20 year old news apparently) that it was running NTC.....
