M109A3 6X6 does not work in reverse?

Hey guys,
quick question? when you have a M109A3 with no air activated 6x6 switch. Does the deuce only have 6x6 in forward? The front wheels turn in forward when I got stuck, but they do not turn at all in reverse to get unstuck. How do i iget them to turn in reverse? Is it broke or thats the way they work?..
