M109a3 What engine is this??

Looking at purchasing my first duece. What engine is this, and what can you tell me about it?
Is it a whistler?
Any other details would be great.

From that pic, multifuel is about all anyone can tell you. Could be an LD, LDT, LDS. It has a turbo so unlikely an LD but I've had LDs with turbos before.

There is a tag on the passenger side of the engine in the front, it will tell you who made the engine, if you start it, it will be obvious if it's a whistler.

Looks to be a White or Hercules LDT-465 Multfuel engine. Great you scored one with a personal heater!
