Hey yall,

I purchased a m1101 to build out as an overland trailer for camping with the family and to serve as a homebase when 4 wheeling. This site was so helpful to me throughout the build process. If anyone has any questions about the build or needs any help please let me know. There is a fold up mounted table on the side with awning and light bar. A 30 gallon water tank mounted underneath with pump, lockable fill port, and a quick connect for the hose. A 100 amp hour battery with a renogy solar panel for the electronics and various lights (4 LED light pods on all 4 corners under neath the trailer, 2 LED light pods on the frame above the table, 6 red LED light strips mounted around frame and one USB lightbulb in the tent. A 20lb propane tank, a few rotopax mounts for more drinking water and a rear trailer hitch so I could attach a bike carrier. 1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg7.jpg8.jpg9.jpg.

Nice rig! Can i get the specs on the Wrangler? What engine and any lift? Looks like you ditched the run flats, what rims (bs) and tires are you running? I see you have a pretty big rise to meet the trailer pintal. Haven’t been in the TM yet but thinking as with any torsion sprung setup, maybe clock the arms to bars to drop it a bit. Nervous about how stiff the suspension would be for a RTT/overland rig. Thinking you would need at least 1k~lb load to get to settle and not bounce around like mad.

How does it tow with the Jeep? Any issues with it being too squirrelly? Have you weighed it in the loaded out configuration?

@albersondh Hey man, I have a 2011 JKUR 3.8 with the stock 4:1 gearing metal cloak 2.5 gamechanger lift with 35's. I did ditch the run flats to lose some weight, lower the height and to be able to have a spare(mounted under the bottom front) I put these on there https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Tires-and-Wheels/Kenda/AM32743B.html I will admit these tires look kind of puny compared to the run flats. If i did it over again I may find some pick and pull rims and throw some AT's on there to look a little more aggressive. I did get my spare from pick and pull but the bolt pattern makes it harder to find rims at least around my area.
The trailer was very bouncy when I bought it but after putting the wheels, frame, and tent on it it pulls great, even with water tank empty. I have not weighed it but I have been curious about the total weight and tongue weight. i have pulled it over 2000 miles and it has done great. My recommendation is keep it at or below 65 mph and turn the overdrive off especially if you are going up and down grades. With that said i have not towed it in really mountainous areas yet.
