M1102 Footman loops why so many on my trailer?

I picked up this M1102 trailer a few weeks ago. I noticed that it seems to have roughly twice as many footman loops on it than any other M1101/M1102 trailer I have seen in pictures. I am calling what the fabric top latches into footman loops. Any idea what may have been attached to this trailer to need another set of loops?
