M135 - M211 production figures

Can anyone tell me when they started making the M135/M211 series trucks and when production ended?

The first production M135 left the assembly line September 13, 1951. Don't have info about end at hand (not sure I have it at all).

You sure about that number? That would exceed M35A2 production 20 fold. The M44A2 series production total was 151483 between 1965 and 1988.

3 million? That's a LOT of trucks....for comparitive purposes ya'll should list m35/m813 numbers too.

I did list the M35 numbers - of course, doing this by M number is very misleading. It really should be done my Standard Nomenclature List (SNL) number. The SNL identifies the truck by chassis type - so folks aren't confused and realize that a M44A2 is a single wheel multifuel long wheel base chassis, a M45A2 is a dual wheel long wheelbase multifuel chassis, and the M35A2 is a long wheelbase cargo truck, a M36A2 is an extra long wheelbase cargo truck. The SNL for the M35/M44 etc is G-742 - that is the 151483 between 1965 and 1988 numbers I referenced above. Still looking for the pre-1965 numbers.

The M813 is part of SNL G-908 - the production of those is something well less than 111,000 - still trying to pin down exactly how much less.

Ahh yes Chassis type would be better.....

I remember it being in a MVM years ago..a pic of a huge line of just power packs waiting to be installed.... I will find the MVM tonight I remember the total number being listed

62,380 thats what Im finding so far.... I remember it being some ungodly huge number and I will double ceck tongiht.

I have serial number M135 082, it was made in OCT of 1951. I'm not sure exactly how many were made, but I know production did in fact start on Sept 13 of 1951 and ceased around 1957 I belive.

Since you have such an early machine, perhaps you can confirm some info for me.

I presume that your truck does not have the splash shields between bumper and grille, is that correct?

Does it have a slave receptacle?

Just trying to confirm the ORD9....
