Ford designed the MUTT and initially entertained the thoughts of marketing a civilian model. Obviously, they went with another design for the original Bronco, a semi-copy of the International Scout.

Boy, somebody at Ford was on drugs with that concept for the Bronco. It kinda looks like Ford's take on the Jeep Commando, which was equally unapealing aesthetically. The Bronco in 1966 was pretty plain and was a competitor of Scout's for the power company business, as it was originally designed. It's amazing how few old model Bronco's survive today. My 1974 had rust holes in the fenders in 9 months from new because someone at Ford didn't specify Galvanize or Zinc coating on the sheet steel....sheez!
