M151 transmission

Hi there,
I accidentally removed reverse shifter arm pivot - hex bolt on left side of transmission case.
I`ve put it right back in, but I do not know if it went back through the hole in the middle of shifter arm.
Do I have to open the transmission or is there any other way to find out if reverse shifter arm is out of alignment?

I put a red X on the shifter pivot cap. This way I can’t make that mistake.

Thank you for the info.Now I understand why Ford had to make a retrofit pivot.
Shifter was dropped towards transfer case.
Repair took me a couple of hours since I had to make new transmission cover gasket.
