I looked at a M35A3 today, specifically the wheels & data plate.
the only weight listings on the data plate was 13,xxx empty and 18,xxx loaded.

I had looked for the weight rating of 4000lb on the wheels, to confirm what gimpyrob had posted.

I was curious about the wheels, because my M36A2 has a GVWR of 25,750 which would exceed the 24,000 combined of the wheels.

So it appears that the A3 versions are not 10k on road rated like the A2's are.

Bob,

Per TM 9-2320-386-10, the rated capacities on the M35A3 are as follows:

TRUCK............... CURB................. LOAD................ TOWED............... GROSS

M35A3 W/W...... 14,600................ 5,000.................. 6,000.................. 19,580

M35A3 WO/W... .13,900.................5,000.................. 6,000.................. 18,900

M35A3C W/W.....14,740................ 5,000.................. 6,000.................. 19,700

M35A3C WO/W...14,040................ 5,000.................. 6,000.................. 19,020

M36A3 W/W.......15,980.................5,000...................6,000..................20,960

M36A3 WO/W.....15,280.................5,000...................6,000..................20,280

To the best of what I know, none of the newer (mid 1980 and up) military equipment is now rated for double of the off road capacities.

I just looked at the TM for the M939 series trucks and they also only list the one load rating of 10,000 lbs, on or off road.

The lower GVW saves money so I am not complaining. Hauling a full five tons makes a deuce a slow propostion anyway. I paid the state minimum of 22,000 GVW when I registered mine.
