M543A2 Maybe

So me and my friend being looking around for a wrecker to use on the yard to lift beds and other things that we are using a fork lift sometimes with difficulties , so being looking around and found this M543A2 about 40 miles from where we going to keep it and used it .
So i took a drive to look at it today, overall looks good it fire up and while it was warming up i look around and spoke with the owner about it, he said i got it about 8 years ago from New York which explains the modes on the crane cab, they also install a towbar as he explain was mainly used for towing .
here is some details..
Looks solid no leaks
the cab cover for crane made hot inside to operate ** will remove if we get it|
the boob lever needs a chain to keep it neutral when boom is up if you don't put the chain on the lever it lets the boom down slowly {not sure why need to investigate} see picture
cables are rusty but work
rotated good left to right except lever is backwards to the the markings
the engine run good at idle but struggle to get to 2600 RPM {possible filters} owner claims he has never touch them
Exhaust pipe broken
D turbo
Need seat covers
Good things
Pretty clean all around
Could not see any rust
OD 5 SPD even do the label said straight 5 SPD
good batteys
External fuel pump
Clean fuel tanks ** owner clean them about 6 months ago}
Tires pretty good
brakes good
Front and rear winch look good {did not test them}
All hoses look Ok ** but you know how that goes}

He wants $8500 firm, there was a 800 series wrecker near him for sale but the guy has not return my emails.

I don't know if this is the right truck for you; but any truck that comes with a boob lever is a-ok with me.

How much did you drive it? Because I wouldn't say that's a good thing if you plan to tow with it....

As I explain in post #1 for lifting , for towing I got a white truck with a holmes 750

I got one, great truck, but 45 is about the top on speed. But for what you need a good fit if a decent price.

936 is a good wrecker. I use mine for lots of both lifting and towing.

Jeepsinker can you post some pictures of the tow truck towbar on your rig. they are using what looks like a Holmes 600 on this truck , would like to see your set up

Oh not necessary, I use the standard wrecker whiffle tree and medium towbar. I only tow MVs.

Willie, I don't have any pictures of it nor do I have my towbar right now. I loaned it to another member to tow a 929 to Jacksonville with. Not only that, but it has been raining for the past two days.
