M923 Recovery Planning - NC to MA

Hi All,

I am looking at driving my newly aquired truck which is currently located on the Outer Banks, NC back to Boston, MA.

This was a privately owned truck (originally from GL) but is driven regularly so there is an element of comfort knowing it's a running truck.

That said it's about 650 miles back to my place.

Looking for SS members that could assist along the route should bad things happen.

Looking at the map, I-64 to I-95 to I-684 to I-84 to I-90 or something similar, maybe go farther north, take the Tappen Zee and avoid NYC and CT.

Would be good to hear from any SS members along the east coast corridor that could lend a hand possibly with a tow should the beast die!

I want to try to get this done before July 4th so once I get some haul quotes next week I will make a decison.

TIA.

Martin.

I definitely recommed a loop west to avoid the NY I95 logjamb. It's no fun in any vehicle!

Sorry, I won' be stateside for another month and even then I'll be about 45 minutes of your LZ.

Best wishes with your aquisition and happy trails to you.

Rick

Well I decided to have the truck transported.

After considering the total cost / risk of a DIY recovery versus transporting I chose the latter.

I tried U-Ship but got a better deal via a recommendation from SS member, digger09, I am using these guy's who have experience of moving MV's around and have drive on step-deck and lowboy trailers; J.R. Martin Transport, LLC.

Truck is being picked-up tomorrow so I should have it before the weekend.
