M925A2 tick tock.

Hello everyone. Just scooped up a really really clean m925a2 and had a quick question. Been hearing a tick in the cab and cant seem to find it. Its speeds up as rpms are raised. No burning oil, very strong oil pressue and no burning smoke . Thought maybe a belt but still nothing ..

The tachometers click. Either a sloppy cable connection or loose recess in the tach.

Air compressor could also be leaking. This would go away once the air dryer blows off and compressor isnt building air

The tick you hear is likely the mechanical fuel lift pump on the 8.3L. They click loudly and the resonation occurs back at the fuel tank. If you listen or feel the tank while it is idling, it should be evident, if that is the cause. No harm. Just how it is. Some do it and some don't. Seems the healthy newer pumps do, and once they are worn they are more quiet. Mine only started doing it after replacing the pump.
