Made opening my hood much easier

After installing winches on my 5 tons I quickly realized what a PIA it was to open the hoods now that the bumper is further out. After finding a few pieces of scrap metal at work, I fabricated me a helping hand. The extra leverage makes it easy enough to open with one hand now. Heck even the wife can do it now! I should have made it even before the winch installs. I plan on keeping one in each truck.

I always use the T handle to pull the hood forward. It works just fine on the wrecker.

I used to do that before the winch. This works better because you pull more down than forward. I don't have enough arse to pull with the T bar!

Funny thing is with the tee handle it is much easier to open a M939 with the winch then without the winch. The short handle model without the winch give little leverage. With the longer winch model its easily half the effort, but your idea looks good too.
