Looked all the same to me, but im not a farmer or a deuce expert. I think this one is a 211 or a 215? It has a 6 banger
diesel mercedes engine in it now. Others ive seen have had gas engines.

Did the military install these or was this a farmer install?
These were used quite regularly at the Pentagon when giving high level briefings......on occasion they were loaned out to career politicians...usually just before election day.

They were surplussed out and farmers bought them..... many are still using them for the same purpose as the original owner.

Wreckerman, you beat me to it! All the crap laid down by politicians nationwide has to go somewhere.

Actually those are all farmer mods. Ag equipment manufacturers make a model specificaly designed for truck mounting. Really destroys the truck though.

They also have the ones with the optional oscillating rotator when things are really hectic.

If you're thinking of buying one of these, check underneath really well. Sh** is very corrosive and I've seen frames rusted completely apart on these type trucks.

I figured no PTO required, a few salesmen in the back would be sufficient to do the spreading job.

That reminds me of an old sales pitch my Grandad use to do. He sold Allis Chalmers farm equipment. AC's manure spreader discharged out the side toward the front. He would tell people " the AC manure spreader is the only brand I'd stand behind".
