Mep 002A Auxillary Fuel “upgrade”

Added a 62 Gallon Transfer tank/storage box to the genset over the past weekend. I had been looking for a pick up bung to use on the tank and remembered the genset came with one! (along with a screw in copper tube). Modified the tube to about 1/2” from bottom of tank, ran the hose (also came with set)....I’ll have power for a week if ever needed!

My only concern is with the air intake between genset and tank. Likely fine on a mild day, but with summers in the 90’s.....thoughts?

Having fun!

Looks good. My only concern was with the clearance of the blower. The picture makes it look as if the tank is sitting right against the generator. The ASK surroundings only give about 5-6 inch clearing between the blower screen and the kit so if you have that you should be fine.

Isn't it nice to have an abundance of fuel onboard!

If airflow becomes an issue you could always move the genset back on the trailer a few inches. The tool box you have in rear (never saw one mounted in that rearward position before) will also bolt up on top of the wheel well. One of mine came that way and it's fine in that position. Since you will have the tank up front moving the genset back a few inches will only help to restore the natural balance of the trailer.

By the way, nice looking genset/trailer power unit.
