Mep-802a overcharging

Howdy

I picked up three 802a with relatively low hours. I tried to jump one of the units with another using jumper cables and now it seems that at least one is overcharging (meter pegged) and the percentage output meter is bouncing violently.

I searched threads with no luck.

Any ideas?

Have you measured the output voltage of the battery charging alternator? Or just looking at the the M-4 battery charging meter? Did you see this gen set ever work right before? Or did this happen the first time you ever tried to start and run it?
