I bought MEP-805B on GovPlanet and after spending lot of time trying to start up discovered the MPS is missing. I found an MSP on Green Mountain for MEP-805B which showed the MPN to be a GAC MSP6728. When I found EBAY and went to order it says the thread is 5/8-18 but when I checked the hole is much bigger. Tried to measure and looks like maybe 3/4-16. Is there sopposed to be some kind of adapter on flywheel housing to use 5/8-18 MSP?

No. There is no adapter. Perhaps you should download the TM's for the MEP-805B.

MSP675C is the Part Number I see in the parts manual.

Thanks for the information on TM's link. Looking at MSP675C it appears to also be 5/8-18 thread. I am going to look at getting a thread insert to reduce the 3/4-16 to 5/8-18 to make it work hopefully.

If it were me, I would try a 5/8-18 bolt before going too much farther. I can't count the number of times I was sure that I had eyeballed the size of a bolt, only to be off.

Is an MSP675C a compact version of an MSP675?

All the best,

You all are missing something here. The Army doesn't buy gen sets that all are not 100% the same. The TM gives you the right number for the MPU. That's what goes in the set. So if its the wrong size, how can that be.

So I went back into some old files. The part number MSP6728 is a sub number, that needs a reducer ring to fit. I have never seen one. So I guess it never was used often. There was a great shortage of MPU's for a few years.

This part number and NSN are the right size.

Q21-6005RT MSP.jpg

Thanks Guyfang. I found an old thread MEP-805B - no power to the ADC100 Electric Actuator where someone had same issue and 155MM suggested that the KenWorth MPU was a direct fit for 805B including same connector. He posted part number Q21-6005RT and specs attached.

I ordered one from Raney's in this link Q21-6005RT Good price with long connector whip. Hopefully will be plug and play. Will update after I receive.
