MEP002A Replacement Batteries

I picked up a MEP002A from GL w/o batteries. I measured te battery trays (10.5" X 5.5"). Is there a source for replacement batteries out there? What does the military use and from whom do they get them? I need help

You are better off going to walmart and getting two 12volt lawn mower batteries and wiring them in series for 24 volts. I paid less then 50 bucks for two. Just a note if you go this route find two old useless batteries to use as a core. They dont usually care what they came from.

Mine has two regular car batteries in it (also from Walmart). The battery tray is waaaay bigger than the batteries but they don't move around and work just fine. I'd go with car batteries vs lawn mower batteries for the extra power.

If it requires certain CCA then go with whatever battery is the same or slightly higher. I was only suggesting the cheapest route. If you really wanted power and reliability could go with some heavy duty deep cell marine type batteries.

I went to NAPA and got a couple of lawn tractor batteries for a bit more than wally world, they work perfectly and require a lot less fuss than two old GI batts.

I went to wallmat and got two car batteries that fit in the trays just had to do alittle bending to the upper bat tie downs they work great

My MEP-003A came with two Optima batteries which were trashed. I replaced them with two Exide Orbital batteries. There were normally expensive, but I bought them directly from Exide at a deep discount, bypassing the dealers.
