One of the MEP1030s I recently picked up was missing a radiator cap. A quick trip through the TM returned a number that I was not able to cross to anything on the civilian side. Not wanting to spend $100 for a radiator cap I took the one from the other unit over to the local auto parts store and we went through a wall of tiny boxes and found one that works!
If anyone is needing to replace their cap it is a Stant 10227. Cost - $100 bill with $88.50 in change.
I filled the radiator to the tip-top and load tested it up to 5kw. No coolant came out of the filler neck. I'm going to verify it will draw coolant from the overflow bottle once it cools down. Its raining here right now so that part of the test will need to wait a bit.
