[MOD NOTE- Everyone Read!] IMG Tag

Ok, here is the scoop. I would really prefer that we dont use the IMG tag that allows images to be posted in the forum from other sites. For the following reasons:

• I have no control over size. I want images here to stay under 640 pixels wide.
• If the hosting site of said images goes down, we no longer have the images, but have a red X
• It doesnt save us on bandwidth anyway
• It allows images that are higher in storage size than we allow here, causing longer download times on the page
• It allows for more than the number of pictures per post than allowed

Please please please, refrain from using the IMG tag. If I could remove it easily, I would!

Any posts that have pictures larger than my criteria will be deleted as soon as I catch them!

Sorry to be such a pain, but following these rules helps the people on slower connections, plus makes posts easier to read.

The board only gives the option of uploading from your PC.
Should pics that reside on the web only be posted as links then ?
Does this rule apply to signature pics?

If you find/have a pic elsewhere on the web that you want to use, save it to your computer first, and then upload it.

my goal is to not have people putting images here 'pulling' them directly from other sites...
