Hello all, thought you might be interested in seeing this test stand. We have used it for many years and it works great. When rebuilding a mule engine, or checking a used engine before installing, we attach or bolt the motor to the front of the vertical bracket facing the pull handle. As per the picture, the stand has its own fuel container. The great thing about this stand is that it allows you to pull the motor to wherever you wish. It is extremely stable, no balance problems, and allows you to run the engine as long as necessary outside without filling your workshop with fumes. When testing the engine at this elevation (close to the ground) it's easy to check oil pressures and temperatures from each cylinder (using a laser). If problems are already occurring with the engine, you can instantly shut it down, modify, or whatever, and if the bad boy is right, pull it over to the vehicle, install it, and get ready to work.
PS, this works really great; the test stand is a great tool for reasons of safety and convenience. If needed for understanding, and you would like to see a pic with an engine on the stand, PM us and we can pull one out of storage, and mount it for demonstration purposes.
