This is Brutus my custom built 5 ton off road recovery wrecker. It has the name Sgt. Hicks on the passenger front window. Can anyone tell me who he would have been in relation to the vehicle. I've seen others with different names on each side but I seem to get a different story from everyone I talk to.

TC or truck commander, also that is NO LONGER a 5t off road truck, what it is is a neutered what WAS a off road rated 5t truck, which means it is rated no more then 2 1/2t

Nice job! Wheel lift sticks out further than I'd like, I would have went black front bumper, and I'm not one to like single rear axle trucks, but it looks right for the bed you used. What a fun toy. Any chance you put a Detroit Locker in the rear? Only way to make it better is if you can establish an LLC and put it to work dragging $ home, and the only way to do this is to tow on-road.

Nice job again.

We have been using it for the last four years doing off-road recovery work on the beaches and Southeastern North Carolina. These pictures are after a recent refurb and new paint job. The wheel lift has to stick out that far because it's the only way to get it to clear the rear axle. It was actually lowered 15 inches from its original mounting point in the subframe of the wrecker body so it would actually touch the ground.

If it functions as well as it looks, you have a winner.

Very nice.

Tell me, what makes it no longer a 5t rated truck? A single rockwell is rated in excess of 5T, rims and tires yep, more than 5T. Frame hasn't changed He probably used 5t or more springs? Yep, 5t or more.

It doesn't act neutered one bit when I'm towing 3500 Dodge dualies off the beach with it. I have another 925 and on the beach this one pulls better than the 6x6.

Yep, less drag and not pushing the front tires as bad in the turns.
Makes me want to neuter mine, but I typically load 10 ton.
Great looking truck being put to good use!
