My First M1009

Hey Guys

Bought this in July 2012 done quite a bit of body work to it, repaint, some interior work, few bits on the engine. Runs well & starts well but i don't do a lot of miles in it. Got a new rad to go in it with new hoses, need to replace the oilpan gasket as its leaking abit on long runs (around 25 miles plus), got some US style plates made up, few bits of welding to do & tidy up the paint on the dash but nothing major.

Hoping to have it done over the next couple of months but we have a lot of snow at the moment. Done the Doghead relay mod & it works great.

I'll try & get some interior shots up soon. Does anyone know if you can get replacement seat covers for the front seats? I know the rear seats can be bought.

Cheers, i'll sort some more pictures out asap. I've only really seen a handful of these over here. I used to have an M1008, of which i only saw about 5 others over a 6 or 7 year period, but it was getting a bit tired & had been butchered & messed about too much. I needed to get my hands on the big 6.2v8, runs smooth & sounds great. Just difficult to get any parts in this country. SO far i've had parts from ebay.com & from rockauto. There's a place in Germany that specialises in M1009 & m1008 as well as M35, Mutt's & Humvees. There quite good but its hit & miss on the price. I plan on using the stencils i have & putting MILITARY POLICE on it but need to get my hands on a siren unit. Does anyone know of one second hand thats going cheap, and they wouldn't mind shipping it over ot the UK?
