Just got my m1081 home after a 3 1/2 hr ride. I got it with a trailer and highway speed was aprox 45 is that sound right I thought it would be a little faster . Temp stay at 200 for 3 hrs but up to 220 at last half hour . I let let idle at destination and temp drop to just under 200 . I do love the air ride cab .

Should run to 58 to the floor.

Not with the trailer. A 2’ elevation change will drag it down. Where I could do 58 with the truck alone it struggled to even get to 45 with the trailer.
That makes for a gutless truck then. Avg 53mph over 200miles towbarring deuces on more than several occasions in standard 1078s.

No need for name calling. My truck runs fine at 58mph all day long and I’ve tow barred a deuce as well but with the 3116 it will not hold speed on a hill, and I haven’t talked to a LMTV owner yet with a 1st gen truck that will. Now add a 9500 pound trailer to that and you’re at a crawl going up a grade. I haven’t driven one but I’m sure the 3126 and C7 trucks do much better. And my guess is the OPs truck is just fine but runs like all other 1st Gen trucks.

Yes gen 1 truck. I can't wait to drive without trailer and as soon as I learn how to post pictures I will .other than basics anything else I should look over . I'm planning on a fluids check and grease points .
