I need a 27000 Lift King Military Forklift transported to NH. Forklift was won on GL, but is now off-site at a storage yard. Doesn't run, but will make arrangements to load and unload. Zip codes 23702 going to 03268. Need moved ASAP. Thanks!

You may consider contacting the carriers directly. Ive used alot of brokers in the past, but found if you just jot down the name of the truck company off their door, and go their website you can get all the rates and book right there. I think i used DHE last, worked out great. Trucker called me, showed up right when and where he said he would. And it was 100 bucks cheaper than any broker quoted. When you call the big boys they always have loads on the other end. When you call little guys you are often paying for an empty trucks return trip.

No problem.

I have used uship with mixed results.

on average the cost to ship a piece of machinery {lathe} was at least 2x on uship as what it would be calling a freight company direct.

I was looking at moving a machine in the 3000-5000lbs range. broke out {not on a skid or anything, just a loose machine} to go from central collapse america {detroit etc} to phoenix i was getting bids in the 1200-2000$ range. Or basically doubling the cost of the machine.

Using freightquote.com i got that lathe shipment down to about 700-800 bucks. By going direct to reddaway, dhe, etc i was seeing about 500ish to move it.

Of course you better make sure the load can be loaded the way you say it will etc.

Lastly. On uship. Keep in mind alot of those shippers are not commercial truckers. Make sure you read the background on the driver! Loads have been known to just disappear!!

I have used ship to book a guy with a pickup to move a horizontal band saw from an auction for me. He was super polite and professional. the delivery cost me less than the fuel for me to drive it myself AND he was totally ok working around my schedule {including a forklift breakdown}. all things a commercial trucker would have been upset with or flat out refused to do. i tipped him 20 bucks and ud think i gave the guy the moon!

Sure thing, Hope the move goes well! I had to move my little 6000lbs forklift across town and that was a hassle. i cant imagine a broke down 27,000lbs machine 6 or 7 states away!

You gotta be stressed man!
