Found this picture in my files again and wanted to share.
I bought a pair of tow bar adapters a few years back and found these cracks when I cleaned out the pin bores.
This area is often overlooked especially if the holes are full of grease. The holes on the other end of the adapters were also cracked.
Probably a casting flaw but still serious.
Just a reminder; Inspect your equipment regularly. The five-ton you save could be your own.
