I just bought a 1031 1986. I was wondering if you all put a receiver hitch on your or did something else. What are the bumpers rated for ? Thanks in advance , Swamp Rooster.

That rear bumper is not like the M1009. You would do well to pull it off. I've pulled #6000 countless times with my M1008 on the factory pintle with no problem. With that said, I know the M1031 has a different pintle and may have different mounting.

Anyone: Is there a reason that the M1031 has a solid mounted non-spinning pintle hook? I removed one and mounted a flush mount receiver tube to the bolts and thehen drilled 2 more holes and used the plate from a M1008 so i could use the 2 bolts in the step plate of the bumper center. Just asking it seems odd that it is not the same pintle. I was told by one guy that they had a vise and anvil that hooked on the stationery hitch. Don't think that sounds feasable. Don't know. Pretty heavy to lift and store.
