Hey everyone! Names tim pinson. im a specialist in the national guard and a wheeled vehicle mechanic. I grew up in a garage building hotrods so working on military vehicles isnt much of a challenge for me. Im in dyer need of a truck and im really interested in a m1009 or m1008. I was reading some forums and looked at some sites and everyone here seems very knowledgeable. My main questions are whats the best place to buy at auction, what are key things to look for, is there a preferred shipping method, and how much. thanks tim.

I would take a look at Gov Liquidation. There is a banner up on the left side of the page.
You could also look in the classified ads at the top of the page.

Welcome Tim!! Read every thing about the vehicle you might be interested in. A good start would be to just to surf the forums. As far as where to buy, you might also search autotrader.com Being able to do a "pre-buy" inspection or test drive would help as well.

Glad to have You join. Being someone that was never in the service I like the input from the guys that were( good knowledge base). This is really a cool site with lots of helpful people. I have been here two years but am really starting to use this more now than before even thow I have had a deuce for two years.

You may also want to look at evilbay...or craigslist( my friend found my deuce on craigslist) the perk that is that the vehicle might already be registered and less paperwork.The downside is the cost is usually higher.
