great website here i have read many times here but now i must register
im from germany beautiful bavaria (oktoberfest)
i have an 1968 2 1/2 ton deuce cargo and an m151 jeep
i plan to buy a humvee but thats a dream now because verry expensive in germany
so i will read now in the forum

Where in Bavaria are you? I have a cousin in Bayreuth, an aunt in Amberg, another cousin in Trier, and others spread out around Bavaria and Berlin.
My father is from Amberg.

Welcome to the SS site Sir!!
My tour in Germany was 1979-1981. Stationed in Erlangen.
I loved the country, culture and the people...BUT :

I HATED the winters!!! As a grunt we spent about 9 months of the year deployed in the field and in the winter we froze our arses off!!LOL.
But then October fest and the kindness of the people sorta made up for it...so...I still call it a good tour!
