no brake lights

I've searched other posts and need help.

I have no power running to the connectors on the air pressure switch. When I jump the two connectors with the 3 post light switch in brake or lights position the brake lights do not work, no power to the connectors. The brake lights where working and now are not. Turn signals work great. I've tried multiple positions on the 3 post light switch with no luck.

Do the wires run up to the turn signal flasher box then to the flasher switch on the steering column then to the 3 post light switch? Trying to figure out where I need to search next.

So it looks like it runs to the 3 post light switch then to the turn signal lever then off to the lights. So I guess I'll pull the 3 post light switch and take a look at the back. Hopefully the wires are labeled. It looks like A and K wires for the light switch and A for the turn signal switch lever.

Went out and checked the easy first, the turn signal wiring. the connector was slightly loose and some of the wires plastic covering were torn and cracked. I pulled the connector and electrical taped up the wires best I could and put silcone grease in the connector and reassembled. Well its working again. Hopefully that was it. Thanks !

Well the brakes are not working again ! I'm going to pull the 3 post light switch and check it out tomorrow. This is really frustrating.

Do your BO brake lights work?

I would start with the brake lights. Clean the grounds at the rear. Simple to do. Replace the lock washers if they are rusted. Grainger has the inside/outside star washers if they need replacing.

Then look at the wiring. Test the brake light switch. Simple to do. But, it can make you insane.

I'm having my hiking buddy who works at Kinkos print the PDF in large scale for me. Then with a little white out and a marker I will make the changes to reflect my dual single wire alts and 12 volt side and he'll laminate it for me. Probably stick with black and white though.

Pulled the 3 post light switch and checked the connector, very slightly loose. Looked ok put some dielectric grease in and reconnected. pulled the flasher connector looked good and tight, wires a little frayed but ok, dielectric grease in and put back together.

The brake lights are working again. This is now the 5th time I've done something got them working only to drive the truck return home and check the brake lights and see that they are not functioning again. Keeping my finger crossed.

Throughout all this the turn signals have worked so its definitly something in the brake wiring.

My flasher system has worked throughout all the problems so since they share a common ground then grounding is not my issure here. If not please tell me where the specific brake light grounding wire is ?

The grounds on the tail lights are not the grounds on the flasher. They are on the bolts holding the tail lights on the truck. They have outside/inside star washers. I know this sounds dumb but cranetruck is the master of this stuff and taught me all I know of it. Thanks again cranetruck.
