The City of Norman, OK is having thier Second Annual Vereran's Day Parade

Sunday November 11th, 2012 at 2:00pm

I have signed us up for the Parade.

I plan on eating a late lunch/early dinner at Rudy's BBQ after the ceremony.

********** UPDATE - 10-30-2012 ****************

From the parade committee.

The assembly area is the same as last year just west of the Norman Depot. Please enter the area from Main Street going south to Santa Fe Avenue to Comanche Street. The parade will start at Eufaula and James Garner and move south down Jenkins. Gayland Kitch assisted by Don Schulenberg will tell you where to line up when you arrive at the assembly area. Please arrive no later than 12:30 PM for a start time of 2:00 PM.

Our Schedule

1200 - Meet at the east high school parking lot at Main St and Pickard Ave. (911 W. Main)
1225 - Travel east on main street to James Garner - next to railroad tracks
1230 - Decorate trucks and find our riders
1400 - parade starts. Procede 2 miles south to Reeves park - follow directions to parking
1600 - Fly by and opening ceremony at Veterans Memorial
1700ish - after ceremony proceed southwest 2 miles to Rudy's BBQ for chow

That weekend is my father-in-laws birthday, which means we may be getting together on Sunday, so I'll have to clear it with management!

Just got word that the BlueStar Mothers would like to join us again.

I can seat 6. Any other takers?

How many BlueStar mothers are we talking about.

I could bolt down a bunch of those spring-ride HMMWV seats I got from GL in the bed of my bobbed truck. I've got 8 of them with spring bases and I suspect they'd all fit.

Where are we gonna meet in the morning of the parade ?? I do not remember which cross road we met at last year ?? Was it the last road on main before the railroad tracks on the south side ??

I think we need to meet somewhere offsite and then convoy in

Hey Warthog! sorry i didnt get back to you, i just got back from my TDY, havent checked on here since june. i'll get with craig this week, he just got his bobbed duece back from the paint shop, all new paint! hopefully we'll be able to join you guys!
