Back in March, my father in law found an 1992 BMY Harsco M923A2 in really, really good shape in Oklahoma City. It only had 960 total miles on it and had been refurb'd at RRAD in 2010 when it had only 700 and some miles on it (i forget what the dash plate says exactly). My father in law and i had been looking for a truck and thought that this was very appealing. We hopped a plane to OK the next day, checked out the truck, paid the man (and had lunch with him), and hit the blacktop. Without looking back, we were on our way at a steady 50 MPH, marveling at how well a truck of this age ran. 900 miles or so, and two days later we were home in GA with some sore back sides and a heck of a good story to tell friends and family. What a trip!!!!
In hind sight, a chase car would have been nice... but luckily all went well on our journey.
