by FV101 » Tue Jun 16, 2009 7:00 am
Dates: 25-27 SEP 2009
Location: Bristow Municipal Airfield, Bristow, OK
Activities/ Events: The Oklahoma Military Show Weekend is a dynamic event that includes the following: battle reenactments, military vehicle (MV) displays (static and dynamic), vintage aircraft displays(static and flying), military weapon displays/demos, live machine gun shoot (shoot fully automatic weapons at a nearby facility), living history displays, military equipment & militaria displays, military related swap meet vendor area, MV convoy, children's activities area, food & drink concessions, more... This is a dynamic show, not just a parking lot static display. All participants are encouraged to bring their military vehicle(s) if they own one. There is plenty of opportunity to drive your MVs and get involved in the various activities. We are actively seeking more reenacting individuals/units and living history participants to become involved.
Admission Fees: Adult $5, Seniors (65 and up) $3, Children $3, 4 yrs and under free.
Swap Meet Vendors: Swap meet vendor spaces will be available again this year. The swap meet vendor area is being moved to a better location this year and will offer indoor tables and outdoor spaces. Contact us for more details.
Notes: This years show has been expanded to include both SAT & SUN as days open to the public. Friday is scheduled for a participant arrival and setup day. Participant camping is encouraged. Participants are encouraged to stay until the show is closed at 4pm on SUN.
The Bristow Airfield is appx 2 miles south of downtown. There are a variety of restaurants in town. One local motel, Carolyn Inn, 1201 N Main Street, (91 367-2299, is located near the turnpike (I-44)exit at the edge of town. There is also a Wal-Mart in Bristow for last minute supplies. There will be signs posted to assist in locating the show.
