One ton front hubs?

I am seriously toying with the idea of dropping a dana 70 rear end under my M880, the question of the hour is can one ton hubs be adapted to the dana 44, or how much of a spacer would be required to run the dually wheels on the stock full time front end? Thoughts?

I would think a DRW front spacer could be bolted to the stock front hubs.
While I disagree with most about the D44 unit bearings being wimpy.
I am sure they will fail prematurely with the load from the DRW spacer.
If your gonna do it, get a correct D60 for the front.

The best and safest way would be to swap to a D60 dually front.
I know of one available here with 4.56 gears for $800, with spring plates included.
