picked up my last deuce today...

...and had to call a wrecker about 30% of the way home. Ugh.

She's at a storage facility close by where I had to shut her down. Oil pressure was slowly and steadily dropping, so I shut her down before anything really bad happened.

Oil pressure started off at drmo around 30 PSI. About 30 miles later, she was dangerously low and I had to shut her down.

Spent the day tracking down and pricing wreckers and storage facilities. $200 for a 7 mile tow. Which was a little less than half of what the other nearby tow companies wanted.

Anyways... what do ya'll suppose the problem is? I checked the oil and it's got full oil. Nor could I see any leaks of any kind.

If the oil pump was just dead, wouldn't pressure have dropped off all at once rather than slowly and steadily?

He forgot to mention it only had 1 mirror (right hand side so we had to swap it), ran hot, and the lights were a bit giggly. But other than that it went smooth as broken glass.

Glad to hear you made it home in one piece. Sorry about having to have it towed. We really need a set of feet for my otherwise useless tow bar.

Check the oil level. I'll bet it's high.

Yeah, "giggly" lights.

As in no brake lights, only one tail light, and Mark I left arm turning indicator. The turn indicator isn't even on the steering column. The plug that goes to it is just hanging loose in the cab.

Oh yeah! Hey by the way, Chester really thinks highly of you. Sorry about the tow; I was there last weekend looking at all of the trucks we can't bid on.. Oh well.

I'll bet he does. ;-)

Yeah, the truck right next to mine was a real cherry. Brand new tires. Perfect paint and body. No rust ANYWHERE. *sigh*

Oh well. Could have been worse.
