PS You have to have the EUC approval before picking it up, but if you are still waiting on approval and they need you to come get it by a certain time how does that work. I tried searching.

First off welcome to SS.

They give you 2 weeks from the time the EUC clears to pickup the item. They make you pay for it as soon as you win the bid.

EUCs have been taking anywhere from a few days (5-7) up to months. Each persons EUC is different.

My first EUC took 4 1/2 months. Now they are averaging 7 days.

And remember, it is the US Government that issues the EUC, not GL. GL is the go between. The Government can take as long as they want.

Thanks for all the information, little by little im one step closer. I did E-mail a shipping company but heard nothing back for an estimate yet. I was thinking why not bring the opportunity to some one on here to make the cash instead.

Drive it!
Or....You could take a chance and drive her home like so many here have!:-D:-D

Lol trust me I would love to drive one home but the odds are it won't even be road worthy enough to do that. Im trying to get one with a low price tag because I know when I get it im going to have to put some cash into it.

Its about 80 miles away from me... why can't the mechanicsburg place have any vehicles!

Dammed if you do.....dammed if you don't

Ft Meade is about a 1.5 - 2 hour trip back to Felton, but i agree Mechanicsburg is alot closer. About a year ago MB had a bunch of trucks, but lately it's been scarce. You could always get one via private sales, there are a few guys on here that have some for sale. At least you could bet, it will have been looked over a couple of times and will get you home and then some. You might pay a little more, but you might just save that in what you would put out on a truck from GL.

You could always find someone with a 5 ton and flat tow it home.

I don't know anyone that has any of these kinds of trucks but im looking. I also have never seen one in person:shock: I miss truck driving and this seems to be the perfect substitute on the cheap comapared to a modern tractor trailer. Plus it would be something I can tinker with.

Im looking in the 1500 to 2000 max price range which would probably be a GL quality truck anyway. I emailed a guy that has one nearby its a....

1970 Jeep Kaizer Hard Top Cab Heater 27K Miles 12 Foot Bed Multi Fuel doesnt say anything about a turbo tho.. he wants $2800 I offered him 2000 hope it wasnt a slap in the face.

I have one, and I am only like 5 mins away from you.

lol, how did i fail to see that you were that close to me, it's in two places! That is truly awsome. Maybe we could meet up sometime and you could show me your truck when you have some spare time. I could even help if needed to work on it.

I live just outside Ft. Meade, if you decide to drive it, I can help you check it out. Maybe flat tow it off base to fix anything to make it road worthy. When I picked up mine it only needed a jump to drive it. GL doesn't write good descriptions of most auctions. I don't think they know what they're looking at half the time.

I lurked on GL and watched quite a few auctions before bidding on my m109 and m1009 Blazer. The m109 was in Lejeune about 4 hrs from me and the 1009 was in Mechanicsburg about 5 hrs from me. I paid 1475 for the 1009 and 1425 for the m109. I drove the m109 the 6 hrs(50 mph vs 70) home and trailered the blazer. I could have easily driven the Blazer home too. Look for a vehicle that runs or starts with a jump. Mine needed a battery. I guess for me I wanted a runner to save on shipping cost and hassle. There is so much info here that you can download for free, do the research, it only costs you time. If you are close to the site that the auction is taking place at go look at the vehicle,or ask one of the others on here most don't have a problem looking over a truck for you. Of course you do run the risk that they will bid against you:wink:. After you have won a truck the EUC will take some time to clear and you have two weeks to get the truck moved after you win so...you have a little time. I would check rates for towing and figure double or triple that if your truck doesn't run for repairs(if you don't do the work yourself). I have put in two truck batteries, a key switch and a heater and have almost spent what I paid for the truck:roll:

Jake, I just won a truck at Ft. Meade. You have an interest in going in and giving me your assessment and opinion on the thing?

Sure, I should be there this week sometime picking up two m105a2 trailers I won a couple weeks ago. Send me what event and lot # it is and I'll look for it while I'm there.
