possibly a crazy question..Multifuel engine w Automatic tranny

hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has ever tried or if it would even be possible to take an M35A2 with a multifuel engine, and put the allison automatic tranny they put in the M35A3's in it. Is there any way to do this? im not a mechanic, so im sorry if this is a crazy ignorant question. thanks for any info
