Do you know how big this gun ring was, sounds like maybe a radar guided AA gun?

The Army Air Force also used that chassis as airport crash trucks late in WWII.

Weren't there some bases in Colorado during the war?

no data plates. On the hood I found the letters USN and USA .The gun ring was over the cab this was a open cab truck the owner built the cab that is on the truck . he used it to pull a lowboy trailer to move heavy equipment . I don't know where he bought it .
