Hello, we are working on a nitrogen generator that originally was labeled to use that red PRF-83282 hydraulic fluid and we are looking for a more affordable alternative. Since we are using the machine for industrial purposes and not near any aircraft we were hoping to find a commercially available fluid of similar physical properties that did not need to be fire resistant. From the specs of the 83282 fluid you can see it is "synthetic hydrocarbon, compatible with petroleum based fluids" . The CST rating at 40 deg C is 14.1, which I think equates to the ISO rating, so maybe we can just use light weight ISO 15 hydraulic fluid? And since we are not in the arctic, would it be better to just use a synthetic ISO 32?
