range adjuster screw

ON a 802a what does the range adjuster screw on the voltage regulator do. does it raise or lower the maximum voltage output of the unit when the potentiometer on the control board is turned to maximum ? thanks

Essentially yes, that is what would happen if you turned it in.
Basically you want to set the screw so that the generator puts out 240V when the adjustment knob on the control panel is approximately centered.
However, I wouldn't suggest playing with it unless you're having a problem and unable to get to 240V in it's current position.
The screw is covered in glyptal and it is possible to damage the potientiometer if you are careless when poking a screwdriver in the hole.
