Rapco/Gillespie paint

Is there anything that can be added to Gillespie (383 carc substitute) enamel paint to dull it further than it already is when dry? I'm looking for something to mix with the paint before spraying if thats even possible.

Well the truck is wet but can you see/tell what is painted with the 383 gillespie paint?
It was painted a year ago.

I agree that the Gillespie has a little more gloss to it than CARC right after it is painted but the gloss will fade away some after a little while.

You can buy a flatner for any paint from your local auto paint supply store
I know painters who have used Talc powder to flatten paint, but as mentioned a few months in thes sun and gillespie will fade being its just a oil alkalyd paint. I just went the opposite way I just recieved 4gal of WWII semi-gloss today from Rapco,I wanted a semi-gloss but wanted to do a different color being I did my last deuce (and 2 m-37's) in 24087

jasonjc, do you have any more pictures of that truck? A couple of friends and I are considering buying a case of Gillespie 383 and painting some stuff. Gillespie always looks waaaaaaaaaaay off to me but if you guys are saying after a year or so it fades enough to look normal, I might be interested.

So in short, does anyone have some good pictures of trucks done w/ Gillespie 383 that have been done for a year or more?

Pic one is my M813 about a year to 18 months after some serious touch ups. The hood is still original paint, the rest of the front area (bed forward) is Rapco/Gillespie except the black. The black on the bumper was cheap crap and faded out really quickly, repainted it after this picture.

Pic two is 4+ years after paint. The hood, side tool box, and rear end are still original paint (so is everything below the bed sides), the rest is Gillespie.
(Apart from showing what I want, that is a cool pic! Pawnshop took it at an airshow).

I don't use Gillespie black, I use Rustoleum high temp barbeque pit paint. I started out using it on my exhaust only, but like it so much it is all I use on vehicles now. It doesn't turn chalky as quickly as the other flat blacks I have used, goes to a soft charcoal

edit- added a couple more pictures. One shows my 813 1.5 to 2 years after paint. Hood, step area, fuel tank, and everything below the sides of the bed are original paint.
The Deuce is a complete repaint with Gillespie, again 1.5 to 2 years old.
Pictures were taken on Ft Hood during a charity fund raiser.
