Yeah, that looks like a great show. I'll plan on attending next year. If anyone goes this weekend, take pictures.

RE: S.E. Michigan WWII & Veteran

What a great show. We all had a blast. 45+ vehicles, lots of vendors, LOTS of people came and spent 6 bucks to get in. Three battles with a good amount of both axis and allied reenactors. Great Lakes MVPA, the Ohio Motorpool and the Detroit Arsenal Museum were well represented. Pics will be forthcoming.

I want to say that this was a well run show. The VFW post (which is the the largest in Michigan) was really nice. We were fed breakfast and dinner by the women's auxilary. The St Clair Shore Police Dept was friendly and escorted our convoy thru nearly every red light we passed while on a trip from the VFW to the yacht club where they had a had a buffet for the truck owners and reenactors on Friday night.

They actually kept the show open past the closing time on Sunday due to the crowd response. The mayor was there, channel 4 was there with a film crew. Miss St. Clair Shores and Miss Teen St. Clair Shores were there both Saturday and Sunday. The beauty queens were treated to a ride out into the lake on Rob Reigle's DUKW.

This weekend (7/25/09) is the 2nd annual show. This time it will be at the Veteran's Memorial Park instead of the Bruce Post. More room for vehicles/vendors, better parking.
