Security Clearance affects EUC approval?

I'm wondering about this, I have not purchased anything from GL that requires an EUC since Jan 2010. but I normally got them within 5-10 business days. I just bought (Jan 2011) a Mep 002 and a 1009 from Nellis. Called GL and they said my account had been flagged for periodic review. I called DLA and left a message with the investigations dept. hoping to hear from them soon. GL indicated that it would be the same as a fist time approval, but many here are "1st timers" and already have theirs.

To get to the point, I recently completed an upgrade to my security clearance which required a SSBI and some other stuff, Jun of 2010, has anyone had problems getting an EUC after such an event?

I've heard of regular GL purchasers getting a "Periodic Review" roughly every 2 years or so. I think they just look into the purchaser same as they would for a first time buyer.

Mine first was 9 days and I maintain a CNWDI TS, I get a SSBI every 5 years... gets easier ever time.

A lot of guys have had these periodic investigations lately.

The last time I put in an EUC I got the same line from GL....periodic review..(it had been a while since I bought anything).

The day after I did an on line chat with one of the gals out at GL HQ my EUC cleared....go figure.

I had a TS before I retired and it had been reviewed...didn't seem to affect the EUC process as I was buying a lot of trucks then and doing EUCs every few weeks.

I think a lot of it is luck of the draw....it just depends on the work ethic of who's desk it lands on.

Ok, got an update from DLA today, I've been flagged/picked for an "Interim Assessment" I was also told this is done every 2 and a half years. . . which coincides with my EUC history to this point.

Has anyone else heard of this?

Probably not a good idea to be broadcasting clearance levels and compartmental levels on active government people.

This was considered to be a "No no" when I was in. It was only discussed to those with a need to know. It may have been organizational specific, but we were a VERY professional organization.

FMJ I just went through my Periodic Assessment. Sent in my EUC on 06JAN11, got sent to BC the same day. Got informed of PA on or around 11JAN11. PAID IN FULL invoice on 19JAN11. Was told it could take 2 months, but ended up only a week for the PA.

Mine went to BC on the 13th of Jan, only reason I'm concerned is that first timers from the sale AFTER 5627 have approved EUC's guess I got spoiled with the 5 to 10 day turn around on these.

When I contacted DLA/DRMO I asked about security clearance, military status etc. She said the biggest thing to speed up the process is to submit your military ID card. She said that extra piece of ID makes a huge difference. Certainly it did make a difference. The EUC prior to this one took 2 full months and that was my 8th one. They were just backlogged that far. Now, they have less of a work load and more staff to handle the work.

Did you submit it (military ID) to GL, or DLA?

My second EUC was sent to Battle Creek on Jan. 27, 2011, and got approved on Feb. 8.
I picked up the lot this morning.

They are all going through faster than ever now, (according to what I have read from earlier reports), except those being sampled for periodic reevaluation.

BTW, my first EUC only took about 6 weeks and that was in late 2010.

A passport is as good as a military ID card from what I hear. I submit a high resolution copy of my passport picture and number, so they can easily look up anything they have on me through Homeland Security and almost all Federal Government agencies that would otherwise do seperate background checks.

I'm on double secret probation, does that count?

For me at least I had front and back copies of my DL as well as my Mil ID on the same PDF file I e-mailed to GL as part of my EUC request. I think it helped my situation since I had a PA driver's License with a Georgia address. My last one was almost rejected because I just moved to FT Lewis, Washington and my physical address did not match my DL. In Fact I had to get a letter from the Base housing office verifying my address too. I was surprised at how may people I had to ask before I found someone who would even help with that, The McChord AFB housing office flat out refused so did JAG. Finally after telling the story enough I spoke to someone on Ft. Lewis that helped me out.
