So the journey started on the 17th of this month when I won her. She went for the most of the 8 or so trucks but I'm defin glad that I got this one as to the other 7. On Friday the 21st I got to go and pick her up. It was a 5 hour drive without stops, food, etc. So we made a day of it and just had fun. My fellow firefighting buddy went along for the ride. When we got there I had totally forgotten that the site manager said that it didn't have any batteries in her. However he told me to call at least a day ahead of time and he get her all running good and filled up. So once we got there I was crap'n my pants because I had forgotten the batteries. We go to the truck and he starts talking about how it runs good and all, me thinking ya if it would just start so i can drive onto trailer lol, and he goes watch it'll fire right up. To my surprise sure enough turns over and does start right up. They decided to just give me batteries since they wanted it to be running and driving when i got there, so I got two brand new Interstate batteries as well as top'd off fuel! ya diesel lol! oil, antifreeze, even windshield wiper fluid!!! WOW!? So I let her warm up as I was getting the trailer ready, tilted the trailer, drove her up and wow thats close! Had been an 1/8 to 1/4 inch more on the front hubs i would of never made it, even at that i scratch the paint off the fenders of the trailer a bit. Got her all loaded on and tied down with four chain and binders in an hour and back on our way home. Took a bit longer getting home as I didn't push my truck on the hills and what not and never do so why make it a first. Trip went like a breeze and 100% uneventful in bad ways . Got her home and unloaded her so trailer could go back out in the morning, plus taking advantage of the helper I still had around. Then classes all weekend so finally today I got to take her out freshen her up and bit and really check her over. I can't find one dent or scratch! amazing!!! and everything is all original still and in tact. Now onto finding a lift kit and taking my hummer wheels to get recentered and 37's put on. Then exhaust and going to take it to a 6.2diesel specialist in Cle Elum, Wa to see what other mods I can do. But first gotta sell my first CUCV, shes in classifieds and needs a good home!!!
